K-pop group BTS became the artist of the year according to the American magazine Time. This is reported on the publication's website.
"BTS is not just the most successful K-pop band on the music charts. They are the most successful band in the world, " reads an article about a South Korean boy band. It also tells the US that despite all the upheavals of this year and the limitations associated with the pandemic, BTS managed to keep in touch with a loyal fan base, dubbed the Army.
This is not the first time that Time magazine has paid attention to BTS. Back in 2019, the collective was included in the list of one hundred most influential people of the year Time 100. This year, they were nominated for a Grammy award for Dynamite, the band's first song in English.
BTS is a boy band from South Korea that appeared in 2013. It consists of seven members: 26-year-old RM (Kim Namjoon), the leader of the group, 27-year-old, the oldest member of the collective chin (Kim Seokchin), 27-year-old Syuga (Min Jungi), 26-year-old j-hope (Chong Hosok), 24-year-old Jimin (Park Jimin), 24-year-old Wee (Kim Taehyung) and the youngest member, 23-year-old Jongguk (Jong Jongguk).
