Born on April 25, 1964 in Queens, United States.
He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He played Hamlet in the university's production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Then he entered Tufts University, where he continued to perform successfully on stage in such plays as "Uncle Vanya", "The Merchant of Venice", "The Mute Waiter". Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles, where he became famous in local comedy clubs.
On television, Azaria first played in the romantic comedy "If not for you", then in the series "Herman's Head", and then he got a tiny episode in the series "Crazy about you". He was supposed to play a fool walking a dog - there was half a day's work, but the audience liked it so much that the character, who was supposed to appear in just one episode, became almost a trademark of the series.
